Sometimes, these comments get lost in the shuffle! Child-rearing with lupus is definitely something that should be considered carefully, and I think it's great that you're already thinking through the process. My husband and I decided that hiring a babysitter would definitely help my chances of staying healthy, so we made it happen. It was expensive at times, tricky to manage, and difficult to find the right person, but it most certainly made it easier on me to get the sleep I needed! And yes - Johnny did (and does) have to take off work when I'm down and out, but I found that having consistent help really helped us manage things. If I felt sick one day, but knew that our babysitter was coming at 1pm...both Johnny and I could count on the fact that he could go back to work at 1pm, and I could rest easy knowing that our routine would go back to normal. Please feel free to email with any other questions - I'm happy to chat! sara@despitelupus.com
Sara Gormanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07608238591846611898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8824828113983189391.post-19469864688427923912012-10-18T05:05:28.959-04:002012-10-18T05:05:28.959-04:00Hi, I have had Lupus for the last 19 years and my ...Hi, I have had Lupus for the last 19 years and my husband and I are currently thinking about me getting pregnant. There are all the medication issues to think through, but also how are we going to look after a child if i do become pregnant. How did you and your husband manage, and did your husband have to take time off work to look after the children if you became sick?.

Thanks
MichelleMichelle Abbottnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8824828113983189391.post-54423175032659017002012-10-17T11:09:53.872-04:002012-10-17T11:09:53.872-04:00I just wrote this post:
